The UK’s first Smart Heating service controlled remotely via the Smart Meter network and driven by intuition from home appliance use, energy consumption patterns and time of use tariffs.
Results:
- Backed by £700K, UK Innovate Grant
- Successful UK pilot trial before Onzo's acquisition by SSE in 2012
- Pioneered features subsequently duplicated by the likes of Nest, Hive and Tado.
- Hardware division sold to Scottish Southern Electric (now OVO Energy).
